A Culinary Christmas: Fire-Free Delights Light Up Mayor World School Cooking is not just about ingredients, recipes, or methods; it is about harnessing creativity to bring flavours to life, even without fire. It is a life skill that promotes mindfulness and creativity, and encourages children to embrace patience and responsibility while understanding the value of nutritious food in today’s fast-paced world. Mayor World School hosted an exhilarating Cooking Without Fire competition on 18th December 2024, centred around the theme Christmas. The students from Grades VII to XI showcased their culinary creativity by preparing delicious and innovative dishes without the use of fire. The competition beautifully captured the spirit of Christmas—sharing, joy, and togetherness—while emphasising the importance of healthy eating and sustainability.It also celebrated the warmth and generosity that make Christmas a truly special time of the year. Participants from the School’s four esteemed houses—Shakespeare, Dickens, Wordsworth, and Keats—showcased their culinary prowess, presenting a dazzling array of festive dishes inspired by the holiday season. The display area was transformed into a Christmas wonderland, with each corner brimming with cheer and festivity. It was a feast for the senses, capturing the magic and joy of the season. The competition was judged by the Principal, Ms.Divya Keni and the Headmistress Mayor Galaxy, Ms.Preena Sablok, who lauded the students for their creativity, nutritional choices, and innovative presentations. The Vice Principal ,Ms Charu Trehan commended the students for exhibiting remarkable teamwork and dedication. Each house was represented by a team of four talented participants, who delivered an exceptional showcase of culinary art.Shakespeare House triumphed as the winner, with outstanding contributions from Inayat Marwaha (VII A), Suhavi Baweja (VIII B), Jaireet Kaur (VIII C), and Inayet Mehta (IX D). Dickens House secured a commendable second place, followed by Wordsworth and Keats houses in third place. The School Management expressed immense pride in the students, appreciating their passion and efforts.They emphasised that such events not only build essential life skills but also instill confidence and resilience. The event concluded with a wave of inspiration, encouraging everyone to pursue creativity and excellence in all they do.
